Why doesn't the cable work with my drive (the cable doesn't recognize the SSD)?

Possible reason:

1) If you are using a new SSD drive or HDD, you need to initialize it before formatting it. You can search for "how to initialize an external hard drive" for guidance on this. The instructions differ between Windows 10, 7 and Vista.

2) If it is an old hard disk or a disassembled hard disk, please confirm whether the hard disk is in good condition.

3) If it is an Apple OS mac system, please set the hard disk format

4) Wrong hard drive type - this cable does not work with SAS/SCSI hard drives

5) The USB port on the computer is damaged.
